We bid farewell to John Willms of Red Oak, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 2, 2025 at the age of 77. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Willms and Ruth Willms (O'Keefe); his sister Mary Willms; and his nieces, Katherine and Elizabeth Willms.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Willms of Red Oak, Iowa; his sons, Matthew Reyna-Willms (Linda) of Clarinda and Eli Willms of Omaha, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Isabel Sunderman of Shenandoah, Ian and Lillian Reyna-Willms of Clarinda, Iowa; his sons, Viviene and Charlie Willms of Omaha, Nebraska; his stepgrandson Jonathan Bush of Omaha, Nebraska; his siblings, Grant Willms (Monica) of Omaha, Nebraska, Susan Frost of Sterling and Sandy Stone of Arvada, Colorado; and his brothers-in-law, George Frederick of Lincoln and Ken Frederick (Sharon) of Parker, Colorado. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
A rosary was held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the LeRette Funeral Chapel (525 E. Ratliff Road, Red Oak, IA 51566). Visitation was held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (1510 Highland Ave, Red Oak, IA 51566).
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Knights of Columbus.
