It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kurt D. Ried of Red Oak, Iowa, who passed away on November 9, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, may Kurt find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may his legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred William and Nellie Louive Ried (Derr); and his siblings, Yvonne Wilson, Freddie Ried and Karl Ried.
He is survived by: his husband Dave Elliott of Red Oak, Iowa; and his siblings, Steven Ried (Angelina) and Dianne Bentley (Matt). He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Nishna Valley Funeral and Cremation Service (405 W Thomas Ave, Shenandoah, IA 51601). A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for designation.
