He is survived by: his wife Connie Clause; his children, Lora Meyers (Brian) of Sioux City, Iowa, Molly Ferree (Steve) of Red Oak, Iowa, Luke Sampers (Katie) of Milo, Iowa, John Sampers (Sara) of Lusk, Wyoming and Teresa Sampers of Littleton, Colorado; his siblings, Jerry Sampers (Karen) of Schaller, Iowa and Nancy Naberhaus (Richard) of Schaller, Iowa; his cousin Michael Kraus of Red Oak, Iowa; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Clause of Sioux City, Iowa, Marie Smalley of Norfolk, Nebraska, Sharon Spangler (Stan) of O'Neill, Nebraska and Sandy Livingston (Craig) of Canistota. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the LeRette Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (1510 Highland Ave, Red Oak, IA 51566).
