He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Schildroth; his parents, Roger Bown and Ida Maye Bown (Ingols); his siblings, Eugene, Donald, Warren, Richard and Mary Ann Hempen; and his brothers-in-law, Marvin Petersen, L. George Schildroth, Lowell Trepp and Harlan Hempen.

He is survived by: his sons, Allen (Brenda), Michael (Lisa), Jeffrey (Gwen) and Curtis (Janelle); his grandchildren, Jeremy, Brady (Katy), Cody (Kenadey), Shani (Jason), Jordan (Ryan), Noah (Lauren), Kyle (Lexie), Karly (Tony), Kara (Nathan), Rachel (Charles) and Parker (Elli); his great grandchildren, Sawyer, Avarie, Azley, Monroe, Cutter, Dru, Boss, Penelope, Ezra, Stella, Daxton, Caroline, Mia, Livie, Cece, Ruby, William, Rory and Eden; his brother Jerry; and his siblings-in-law, Delores Petersen, Ruth Trepp, Craig Schildroth (Marie) and Warren Schildroth (Becky).
