She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward James and Shirley Ann Houska (Herman); and her father-in-law Wendel Staab. She is survived by: her husband Christopher of Remsen; her sons, Miller Staab of Remsen and Braxton Staab of Remsen; her sisters, Mary Ellen Houska of Ashland, Melissa Houska Seifert (Brad) of Marion and Theresa Houska Lee (Tom) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her mother-in-law Debra Staab of Remsen; and her brothers-in-law, Donald Staab (Becky) of Remsen, Adam Staab (Kim) of Remsen, Jesse Staab (Jackie) of Remsen and Chad Staab (Cheryl) of Fargo. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Fisch Funeral Home (310 Fulton St, Remsen, IA 51050). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (121 E 4th St, Remsen, IA 51050).
In lieu of gifts and flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the family for a cause to be decided at a later date.
