It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy A. Jonas of Remsen, Iowa, who passed away on April 30, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Rodenbour and Helen Rodenbour (Marso); her husband Peter Jonas Jr.; and her daughter-in-law Sharon Jonas. She is survived by: her children, Jeff Jonas of Remsen, IA, Debbie Boccumini (Victor) of Port Orange, FL, Andrea Mai of Orange City, IA, Mary Stene (Jim) of Lenexa, KS, Matt Jonas (Carol Braun) of Remsen, IA, Becky Engel (Matt) of Coto de Caza, CA and Nikki Schnepf (Brian) of Shawnee, KS.; and her grandchildren, Steve Jonas, Audra Erk, Amber Jonas, Angela Jonas, Deanna Thomas, Erica Harrell, Anita Mai, Theresa Budden, Patrick Mai, Marcus Mai, Carly Bullinger, Dalton Stene, Evan Engel, Jason Engel, Max Schnepf, Madeline Schnepf and Rusty Jonas.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, May 5th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Fisch Funeral Home (310 Fulton St, Remsen, IA 51050). A prayer was held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, May 5th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (310 Fulton St, Remsen, IA 51050).
