He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Tonsfeldt and LaVonne Tonsfeldt (Haack). He is survived by: his children, Jenny Robins (Lars), Erik Tonsfeldt (Lindsey) and Anna Zak (Nick); his stepson Steven Johnson; his grandchildren, Emma, Owen Robins, Aaron and Alena Tonsfeldt; and his brothers, Denis (Michele Cramer) and David (Lori). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, fur babies, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Wet Nose Rescue or The Nature Conservancy in Iowa—two organizations that deeply reflect his values and passions.
