He was predeceased by: his parents, Ward Abbott and Helen Abbott (Scott); his former wife Lois Abbott (Ott); his son David Abbott; his grandson Bailey Lane; and his brothers, Wendell, Loren and Bob.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Abbott (Woolworth); his children, Dan (Dianne), Rick (Rose), Joy Wright (Bob), Sonja Brown (Stan), Royce (Charity), Chauncey (Stephanie) and Dwight; his siblings, Ron (Judy), Barbara Neuendorf, Ralph (Karolynn), Coleen Poyner, Paul (Betty), Tim (Shirley), Beth Fossum (Roger), Joyce Black, Doug (Rhonda) and Tom (Phyllis); and his sister-in-law Cheryl. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saratoga Community Church (10194 Howard Ave, Lime Springs, IA 52155).
