Cindy Mapel Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cindy Mapel of Riverside, Iowa, who passed away on December 10, 2025 at the age of 68. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Cindy Mapel to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Waldschmidt and Verlee Waldschmidt (Millage); and her sisters, Carolyn Waldscmidt and Debra Waldschmidt. She is survived by: her husband Michael Mapel of Riverside; her children, Matthew Mapel (Leslie) of Cedar Rapids, Shannon Sells (David) of Crawfordsville and Ryan Mapel (Anna) of Longview; her grandchildren, Caitlin Sells (Bryce Chunn), Courtney Mapel, Alexis Mapel, Catrina Sells, Tyler Mapel and Effe Mapel; and her sisters, Monica Fuhrmeister (Gary) of Iowa City, Patti Slaubaugh (Bob) of Kalona and Karen Nupp of Wayland.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services (111 Greene St, Riverside, IA 52327). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (360 Washburn St, Riverside, IA 52327). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Riverside VFW Post 6414 (1259 Riverside Rd, Riverside, IA 52327).
