He was predeceased by: his parents, Urban Metz and Alma Metz (Heck). He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Metz of Riverside; his sons, Kevin Metz (Cara) of Williamsburg and Daniel Metz of Iowa City; his stepchildren, Sarah Stahl (Zach) of Davenport and Daniel Verzaal (Nora) of Bettendorf; his granddaughters, Lillian Shrock, Elizabeth Metz and Flora Stahl; and his brother Duane Metz (Deb) of Riverside.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (360 Washburn St, Riverside, IA 52327).
A memorial fund has been established for St. Mary's Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
