She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Powers and Hildagard Powers (Zweibohmer); her son Charles J. Panek; her son-in-law Jeff MacQueen; her brother Fred Powers; and her great grandchild Cooper Panek.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Connie MacQueen of Elmhurst, Robert Panek of Cedar Rapids, Richard Panek (Tori) of Des Moines and Ann Buckley of Des Moines; her grandchildren, Michael MacQueen (Emily), Meaghan Francis (Josh), Alyssa Panek, Ashley Chelminski (Brian), Alex Oshel-Panek (Tara), Jacob Panek (Maddie), Austin Panek, Abby Ginsberg (Alec), Taylor Carlson (Peter) and Benjamin Buckley (Ashli); her siblings, Colleen Weber of Monticello and Clayton Powers (Fran) of Clifton; and her sister-in-law Marilyn Powers of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Aletha's memory may be directed to Mercy Hospice.
