He is survived by: his mother Ailene Herda (Heidebrink) of Orange City, Iowa; his wife Linda Herda of Rock Rapids, Iowa; his children, Trent Herda (Ashley) of Lawrence, Brooke Arias (Luis) of Laconia, Nate Herda (Elizabeth) of Simpsonville and Morgan Herda of Rock Rapids, Iowa; his siblings, Mark Herda (Melinda) of Spencer and Peggy Bursch (Brian) of Buffalo; his grandchildren, Chandler, Aubrey, Hudson, Clark, Emmalynn, Margaret, Jada, Charlotte, Isabelle and Dreamer; his pet Harlee; his siblings-in-law, Pam Hawf (John) of Lester, IA, Diana Bigge (Dave) of Sioux Falls, SD, Patti Pottebaum (Doug) of Inwood, IA, Sandi Lupkes (Jim) of Rock Rapids, IA and Craig Bontje (Becky) of Rock Rapids, IA; and his friends, Alan and Candy Miller of Beulah, Wyoming. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Herda family for later designation.
