With sadness, we share the passing of John Altman of Rock Rapids, Iowa. John, born on May 7, 1937, passed away on August 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember John for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Altman and Tena Altman; and his brother Denny. He is survived by: his wife Esther Altman; his children, Todd (Patty Altman) of Waseca, MN and Tami (Denis Frischmeyer) of Waukee, IA; his grandchildren, Jordan (Kaylee), Kaitlin and Megan; and his great grandchild Rory.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Reformed Church (512 S Union St, Rock Rapids, IA 51246). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
