He was predeceased by: his parents, John Oliver and Mary Oliver (Bonnema); his parents-in-law, John and Rina Buttjer; and his siblings, Kathleen Gage (Duane), Vivian Ageson (Harold), Ruth Van Den (Ceel), Phyllis Zeutenhorst (Johnny), Shirley Mouw (Lorenz), Virginia Kraayenbrink (Henrich) and Jack Oliver (Louise).
He is survived by: his wife Carol Buttjer of Rock Rapids; his daughters, Lisa Marco (Greg) of Ada, MI and Amy Kim (Seung) of Rock Rapids; his granddaughters, Nicole and Rachel Marco; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Kraayenbrink. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home (1207 Park Dr, Rock Rapids, IA 51246). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the First Reformed Church (512 S Union St, Rock Rapids, IA 51246).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Rock Rapids Kiwanis, who serve the local children of Rock Rapids.
