She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Ruiter and Louise De Ruiter (Van Der Werf); her husband John Gort; her grandson Jon Thomas; and her siblings, Margaret Kuhl, Gilbert De Ruiter and James De Ruiter.
She is survived by: her children, June Burem of Kingsport, Jack Gort (Donna) of Mechanicville, Cliff Gort (Esther) of Hull, LaVonne Peterson (Kelly) of Du Quoin, Larry Gort (Kathy) of Windsor and Ontario. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the First Reformed Church of Rock Valley (1501 16th St, Rock Valley, IA 51247). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
