He is survived by: his parents, Edward Ruyter and Rosella De Ruyter (DeKruyf) of Rock Valley; his wife Jill Gayer; his children, Alexa Vander Berg (Dylan) of Verona, Kelana De Ruyter of New York City, Treyton and Tylandon De Ruyter of Boyden; his granddaughter Kyla Vander Berg; his siblings, Carla Kieft of Rock Valley, Steve De Ruyter (Bonnie) of Rock Valley and Dave De Ruyter (Becky) of LeMars; his father-in-law Lester Gayer (Helene) of Orange City; and his siblings-in-law, Jerod Gayer (Deb) and Dana Harskamp (Tom) of Waverly, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be directed to the family for a later designation.
