She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore "Ted" Dykstra and Gertrude Dykstra (Rozeboom); her husband Jay Arlin De Smit; her brother Gerald Dykstra; and her nephew Jeff Dykstra.
She is survived by: her grandson Jason De Smit (Joy Visser) of Panton; her children, Breanna Vander Wey (Howie), Ashley, Marcus De Smit and Julie Bartels (Tim) of Rock Valley; her grandsons, Noah Bartels (Paige Drenth) and Nathan Bartels (Johanna Zylstra); her son Michael De Smit of Sioux Center; her grandchildren, Allie, Jasmine and Chris De Smit; her children, Troy De Smit (Lisa Van Middendorp) of Maurice, Tricia Bartels (Wallace Jackmon, Jr) of Sioux Falls, Josie, Callum, Aspyn and Hollis Bartels; her siblings, Lenora Raymon (Bob) of Canton, Linette Johnson of Sioux Falls and Theo Dykstra (Dawn) of Canton; and her close friends, Harriet Van Veldhuizen, Kay, Gary Van Veldhuizen, Sid, Christie Bulthuis and Lynda Bulthuis.
