He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Klein and Henrietta Klein (Kuiper); his in-laws, Vernon and Vera; and his sister-in-law Velma (Walt Veldheer).

He is survived by: his wife Val; his daughter Kim (Craig Vander Veen); his grandchildren, Nicole and Justin (Courtney); his son Chad (Jennifer Klein); his grandchildren, Alexis (Tony Draayer), Dalton (Sara Bennett), Will and Elizabeth; his son Grant (Kalie Klein); his grandchildren, Eli, Ava, Tyce and Avyn; his sisters, LaJean (Howard Bonestroo) and Laura (Gaylen TeSlaa); and his brother-in-law Vance (Phyllis Baareman). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to the Avera Musical Therapy Department.
