Phyllis Irene Childers Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 28, 2025, at the age of 86, Phyllis Irene Childers of Roland, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Hovde and Erma Hovde (Stahn); her husband LaVerne Childers; her children-in-law, Doyle McCarl and Pam Hensel; her great grandchild Kellan Starrett; her brother Eugene Hovde; and her brother-in-law Tom Nolte.
She is survived by: her daughters, Janice Bucklin of Port Charlotte, FL and Julie McCarl of Roland; her grandchildren, Jeremy Bucklin (Deborah), Jason Bucklin (Jason), Jennifer Acevedo (Eric), Anthony Wright-Stilwell (Randi), Jenna Thomas (Richard), Amanda Starrett (Kane) and Kimberly McCarl-Read (Cody); her great grandchildren, Mikayla, Alexey, Victoria, William, Emilee, Stephen, Samantha, Melody, Alexis, Aubrey, Ayva, Aliah and Kayden; and her sisters, Linda Nolte of Roland and Darlene Johnson (Jerry) of Ames. She is also survived by nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Salem Lutheran Church (102 S Main St, Roland, IA 50236). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
