He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward VanGorkom and Edna VanGorkom (Wiegert); his siblings, Roger VanGorkom and Annella Fritz; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Fritz and Denny Heathman.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Heathman; his children, Michelle Simpson (Aaron) of Chanhassen, MN and Dave (Danelle) of Algona; his grandchildren, Reese, Maya, Sophie Mireau, Dainen, Drew, Dionna and Danica VanGorkom; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Heathman and Peggy VanGorkom.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Powers Funeral Home - Pocahontas (502 4th Ave NE, Pocahontas, IA 50574). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Peter Lutheran Church (600 2nd Ave SW, Pocahontas, IA 50574).
