It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ellen Young of Rowley, Iowa, born in Independence, Iowa, who passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Grover and Mildred Grover (Basquin); her parents-in-law, Robert and Margaret Young; her siblings, Charlotte Fields (Lance), Phyllis Day (Richard), Nancy Ewoldt and Tom Grover; her brother-in-law Steve Gray; and her son-in-law Mike Irvine.

She is survived by : her husband Robert Young (Sam); her children, Robert Young (Shelly) of Urbandale and Valerie Young Irvine of Cedar Rapids; her sister Barbara; her siblings-in-law, Jerry Nelson of Delmar, IA, Bonnie Gray of Bettendorf, IA, Ed Ewoldt of Wheaton, IL and Joan Grover of Bellville, KS; her grandchildren, Brittany Schlichting (Matthew), Robert Young and Sara Young; her great grandchild Amelia Schlichting; her niece Karen Kruse (Ewoldt); and her nephew Kurt Ewoldt. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Ellen had served on the Community Foundation of NE Iowa for several years.
