He is survived by: his wife Joann Nelson of Ruthven; his children, Janet Wassom (Joel) of Dickens, IA and Roger Nelson (Megan) of Sioux Rapids, IA; and his grandchildren, Hunter Wassom of Sioux Rapids, IA and Sarah Wassom of Dickens, IA. He is also survived by several cousins; other relatives; and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, IA.
