It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Allen LeRoy DeJong of Ruthven, Iowa, who passed away on May 27, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Eunice Rozeboom of Sioux Center, IA; his son Michael; his parents, Simon DeJong and Tracy DeJong; his brothers, Stanley DeJong and Dallas DeJong; and his brother-in-law Dick Dykstra.
He is survived by: his siblings, Florence Dykstra of Hospers, IA, Odean DeJong (Phyllis) of Hull, IA, Lloyd DeJong (Lois) of Sioux Center, IA, Karen Kooima (Myron) of Inwood, IA and Beverly Eckblad (Larry) of Lakewood, CO; his son Tim DeJong (Laura) of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren, Brianna McClure (Dan), Brenden DeJong (Danielle) and Brett DeJong (Jordan); his daughter Shelley Watts (Jeffrey) of Bellevue, NE; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Watts Jr. (Fallon), Jason Watts, Jerome Watts (Jesika), Jeremiah Hurley, Ja'Quawna Dotson (Mike) and Jacey Watts; his son Todd DeJong (Heather); and his grandchildren, Lance DeJong (Katie), Dylan DeJong and Carter DeJong. He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to CrossWinds church in Spencer.
