It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Edson of Sac City, Iowa, who passed away on April 8, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, James Connell and Elizabeth "Bess" Connell (Miles); her siblings, William (Florence Connell) and Marguerite (Robert Barrett); her niece Laurie (Marc Dettmann); her nephew Christopher Connell; and her great-nephews, Travis Stauter and Corey Dettmann.

She is survived by : her nieces and nephews, Bill Connell (Jan) of Mesa, AZ, Mike Barrett (Laurie) of Fonda, IA, Ron Barrett of Des Moines, IA, Perry Barrett of Manson, IA, Sharon Stauter (Tim) of Fonda, IA, Becky Atkinson (Rick) of Sioux City, IA and Linda Carson (Curt) of Fort Wayne, IN; and her friend Esther Dettmann. She is also survived by great-great nieces and nephews; other extended family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (621 S 12th St, Sac City, IA 50583). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
