He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Steinberg and Evelyn Steinberg (Kruger); his stepmother Maxine Steinberg (Griener); his brother-in-law Lellen Jones (Buck); his nephew Steven Jones; his nephew-in-law Wade Machin; and his great grandchild Olive Esma Schulz.
He is survived by: his sons, Brian Paul (Tori) and Bruce Frederick (Meagan); his wife Karen June (Hartwig) of John's Lutheran Church; his grandchildren, Gregory (Blair), Kayley (Chaley Schulz), Riley and Violet; his sister Carol Jones of Austin; his nephew Jason (Rosemary) of Nashville, Tennessee; his brother David (Elaine); his nieces and nephews, Jessica Nielsen (Luke), JD (Courtney), Joshua (Abbie) and Jackson (Ashley); and his great grandchildren, Quinn, Arlo, Sullivan Steinberg, Greer and Willow Schulz.
