Michael D. Porter Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Michael D. Porter of Salix, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 10, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Michael farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Michael is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Porter and Bernice Porter (Blase). He is survived by: his sons, Jay Porter (Amanda) of Ankeny and John Porter of Council Bluffs; his grandchildren, Lillia and Dax; and his siblings, Richard Porter (Peggy) and Gail.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to PBS and Wounded Warrior Project, organizations Mike cared about deeply.
