She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Bruggom and Jennie Bruggom (Reekers); her former husband Bill Bruggom (Francis); her in-laws, Jose Vanden Berg (Sam), Bill Elgersma (Elsie), Jennie Vanden Berg (Dick), Jake Elgersma (Carolyn), Sam Elgersma (Priscilla), Effie Starkenburg (Richard), Margaret Veltman (George), Tena Elgersma (Maynard), June VanDyke (John) and John Elgersma (Bev); Harry and Hattie Elgersma.
She is survived by: her cousin Reekers; her husband Ray; her children, Jeff Elgersma of Sanborn and Jill Nederhoff (Dan) of Fulton, Illinois; her grandsons, Elliot Nederhoff and Drew Nederhoff (Lindsey); her great grandchildren, Jaycee and Joelle; and her sister-in-law Carol Bruggom. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Memorials given in honor of Phyllis will be directed to The Bible League.
