He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernhard G. Petersen and Emma C. Petersen (Hollander); his wife Marilyn Petersen; his sons-in-law, Dan Gotto and Dan Miller; and his sisters, Lucile Foster (Shorty), Marie Wordekemper (Lawrence) and Ruth Maack (Merlin).
He is survived by: his children, Elaine Gotto of Denison, Colleen Miller (Dave) of Everly, Cheryl Miller of Bennington and Roger Petersen (Shannon) of Urbandale; his grandchildren, Justin Gotto (Megan), Jason Gotto (Abbey), Josh Gotto, Melayna Miller, Damon Miller, Taylor Petersen and Dustin Miller; his great grandchildren, Madison, Cora, Croix, Maisy and Milo; and his great great grandchild Colter. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church or to the family.
