He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans Henry Theodore and Katherine Elizabeth Nihsen (Moeller); his wife Erna Nihsen; his sons, Russell Dean Nihsen and Dallas Lee Nihsen; and his siblings, Wayne Nihsen, Vernon Nihsen and Mabel Kohlbaum.
He is survived by: his son Lowayne Nihsen (Carol) of Port Orchard, Washington; his grandchildren, Jeremy Nihsen (Stephanie), Kristian Thomas (Robert), Jarrod Nihsen (Kayla) and Natasha Linne (Timothy); and his great grandchildren, Mercedes, Hailee, Marissa, Kendall, Emma, Lucy and Cody. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
A graveside service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Morgan Cemetery (1488 220th St, Schleswig, IA 51461).
