He was predeceased by: his parent Garnet Charlotte Bone Staggs; his wife Teresa Staggs; his father H. O. Staggs; his son Steven Hubert Staggs (Kathy Staggs); his granddaughter Brooke Marie Staggs; his in-laws, Bob and Avis Brummitt; and his brother-in-law Roger "Butch" Brummitt.
He is survived by: his daughter DeLoris Wegener (Randy) of Lone Jack; his grandchildren, Ashley (Hannah), Julia, Owen, Kendall, Lindsey (Adam) and Wendte; his children, Chaley Wegener and Larry Staggs (Lori) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Erica Staggs, Kinsey Wirt (Jeff), Ryan Anderson (Sarra) and Michelle Jordan; his great grandchild Gary Staggs (Jody) of Oskaloosa; Steven (Andrea), Jordan (Jeff), Poen, Isabelle, Ava, Morgan Gray, Tyler Staggs, Shari Bradfield (Mark) of Harrisonville, Austin (Hannah), King, Autumn Kimball (Nathan), Terri Joiner (Rob) of Carlisle, Hillery Joiner, Kyle (Brianna), Trevor Joiner, Cortney Joiner, Terry Shoop (Rodney) of Marceline, Megan (Jake), Tarpening, Preston, Kingston, Tynzlee, Hazley, Matthew (Kaysee), Charlie Schleicher, Oliva, Molly Shoop (Ben Moran), Kristi Nielson, Jacquelyn LeaVesseur (Carter) and Zachary Nielson. He is also survived by numerous extended family and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home-Centerville (501 N 18th St, Centerville, IA 52544). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
