He was predeceased by: his parents, Perle Johnston and Opal Johnston; his in-laws, Maurice and Mary Tuttle; his son Brian Johnston; his brother-in-law Dennis Tuttle; and his niece Melinda McElvain (Lucas).
He is survived by: his wife Linda Tuttle (Tuttle); his children, Rhonda Wouters (Reed), Lori Jewett (Jon) and Brent Johnston (Melanie); his grandchildren, Colton Wouters, Lauren Freeze (Dalton), Justin Jewett (Jayden Miller), Riley Robertson (Hunter), Megan Wait (Ethan), Allison DeVolld (Blaine), Gracelyn Johnston, Sydney Snyder (Karlie), Jack Snyder and Maggie Davis; his great grandchildren, Cash Robertson and Maylee Wait; his siblings, Janet Lucas (Harry) and Kenny Johnston (Sheila); and his in-laws, Richard Tuttle (Karen), Marvin Tuttle (Barb) and Elaina Tuttle. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home-Corydon (303 E Jefferson St, Corydon, IA 50060). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Contributions in Phil's memory can be made to the Seymour First Responders in lieu of flowers and mailed to Thomas.
