He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Schmidt and Grace Schmidt (Alons); his wife Joyce Schmidt; his son Everett Schmidt; his siblings, Dean Schmidt (Charlotte), Raymond Earl Schmidt and Mary Evink (Wilbert); and his son-in-law Kevin Kisling.
He is survived by: his daughters, Patricia Meester (Doug) of Sheldon and Carol Watson (Kirk) of Ames, Iowa. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister; and one brother.
