Carol Elaine Dix Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Elaine Dix of Shell Rock, Iowa, who passed away on February 2, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Collins and Alma Collins (Lubbs); her husband DeForest; her sister Fern; and her siblings-in-law, Gerald Green, Richard, Sharon, Larry, Karen and Tom Hannemann.

She is survived by: her children, Daniel (Diane), Shell Rock, Deanna McCue (Rick) of Waverly and Maria Brcka (Greg) of Ankeny; her stepgrandchildren, Jon McCue (Lynn), Jamie Mottet (Pete), Angie Pinegar (Bill), David Maxwell, Tyler (Ellie), Brian and Benjamin Brcka; her great grandchild Danny; her sisters, Jean Collins of Cedar Falls and Janice Hannemann of Nashua; and her siblings-in-law, David, Patricia Bowen (William) of Reinbeck and Judy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation to Carol's favorite children's charities.
