She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Henry Ideker and Grace Minnie Ideker (Viets); her husband James Curt Gaffney of Peter's Lutheran Church; her sister Joyce Rother; her brother-in-law Paul Rother; and her nephew Greg Rother.

She is survived by: her children, David Gaffney (Diana) of Craig, MO and Susan Meszaros (Andrew) of Bowling Green, OH; her granddaughter Elizabeth Carter (Derek) of Maxwell, IA; her children, Emma Gaffney (Mario) of Shenandoah, IA, Dominic and Magdalena Meszaros of Bowling Green; and her great grandchildren, Hamish and Brigitte Carter of Maxwell, IA. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
