She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Edward and Grace Evelyn Lorimor (Myers); her husband Richard "Dick" Phipps; her siblings, Marvel Skinner (Merrill), Duane Lorimor (Evelyn), Merna Dobbs (William "Bill") and Lavone Johnson (Arlen); her daughter-in-law Beth Phipps; and her niece Pam Dobbs.

She is survived by: her children, Roger Phipps (Denell) of Farragut, Iowa and Lisa Connell (John) of Shenandoah, Iowa; her grandchildren, Chris Phipps (Lindsay) of Farragut, Iowa, Craig Connell (Alexa) of Shenandoah, Iowa and Stephanie Connell of Shenandoah; and her great grandchildren, Carter Phipps, Booker Connell and Quinn Connell. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marilyn's name are being directed to the family to be designated.
