She was predeceased by: her parents, William Harold "Jeff" Whitehill and Ethel Marie Whitehill (Kelly); and her great-grandparent Martha Jane Whitehill (Blakeney). She is survived by: her sons, Chad Ryder Bergel (Tricia) of Broomfield and William Victor Bergel (Kristen Reeves); her grandchildren, Tate Ryder Bergel (Kaylie) of Forney and Saige Ty Bergel (Hannah) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; her great grandchild Pierce Bergel; and her brothers, John Whitehill (Kathy) of Lincoln, Merrill Whitehill (Linda) of Ankeny and Gary Whitehill of Marion, Iowa.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to designate a memorial to the Arbor Day Tree Foundation in Marilyn's name.
