He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Lenville and Dorothy Bessie Schwartz (Chadwick); and his sister Diane Farrell. He is survived by: his wife Eileen Knudson (Barman) of Shenandoah, Iowa; his brother James Schwartz (Denny) of Vancouver, Washington; his son Donald Schwartz of Madison, Wisconsin; and his stepdaughter Emerald Green (Kelly) of Shenandoah, Iowa. He is also survived by three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
