He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Bales and Darlene Bales (Thompson); his brothers, Gary and Jimmy Bales; his stepfather Gerald Rupp; his brother-in-law Eddie Bancroft; and his father-in-law Harold Bancroft.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Bales; his daughter Kayla Bales; his stepson Kyle Bancroft (Katie); his siblings, William "Billy" Bales, Glen Bales, Donald Bales and Linda Bales; his mother-in-law Martha Bancroft; and his in-laws, Sandy Bancroft and Shelia McCoy (Ben). He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Wabash Memorial Chapel (208 W Clarinda Ave, Shenandoah, IA 51601). A graveside service was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Quincy Oakland Cemetery.
