He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Hilton and Mary "Veronica" Hilton (Leahy); his siblings, William Hilton, James Hilton, Louise Grant and Jerry Hilton; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Grant and Zach Nammari.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Hilton of Shenandoah; his children, Carrie McFadden of Centerville, Shelley Hilton (Matt Mehmert) of Columbia, Chris Hilton (Emily) of Tabor and Jennifer Moore (David) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his stepchildren, Patty Vavra (Don) of Omaha, Don Shannon of Glenwood, Joy Monroe of Sultan and Ron Shannon of New Mexico; his siblings, Marianne Sullivan (Robert) of Woodbine, Kathleen Nammari of Broken Arrow, Angela Kreiger (Stanley) of Omaha, Stephen Hilton (Lynn) of Eagan, Vincent Hilton (Susan) of Sidney, Marie Hilton of Omaha and Patty Suiter (Don) of Louisville, Colorado.; and his sisters-in-law, Vickie Hilton of Wooster and Theresa Hilton of Columbus, Nebraska.. He is also survived by twelve step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Nishna Valley Funeral Home (405 W Thomas Ave, Shenandoah, IA 51601). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to the family to be used for a memorial at Rapp Park.
