He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Martin and Anna Martin (Werre) of Tappen, ND; his daughter Mary Ellen Martin; his grandson Matthew James Green; his siblings, Hilbert Martin, Lillian Wolf and Marilyn Lott; his parents-in-law, Ralph and Alice Hackman; and his siblings-in-law, Diane Vincent and Dale Hackman.

He is survived by : his wife Karen Hackman; and his daughters, Tammy (Mark Green) and Jamie (Lance Cushman).
