He was predeceased by : his parents, John Sr. Huls and Reka Huls (Kor); his wife Shirley Huls; his daughter Kathy King; his grandson Adam Huls; his daughter-in-law Diane Huls; and his siblings, Jim, Maynard Huls and Carol Luitjens.

He is survived by : his children, Mike Huls of Sibley, IA, Karen Doorenbos (Merlin) of Sibley, IA, Kenny Huls (Lisa) of Sibley, IA, Keith Huls (Brenda) and Kevin Huls (Val) of Sioux Falls, SD; his close friend Bob Hendrix of Sioux Falls, SD; and his sister Darleen Stofferan of Sibley, IA. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

“I only met him once at his beautiful daughter Kathy’s service. I will always remember when I shook his hand and told him my name he gave me a “thumbs up” and said you’ve raised a good son. Later having the privilege of spending time with his loving family I thought to myself “John, you’ve raised a good bunch here”. May God Bless all of you until you meet again.
