He was predeceased by : his parents, John Mayer and Elinor Mayer (Dagel); his sister Mavis Walbran; and his son Jimmy Mayer. He is survived by : his wife Mary L. McClain Mayer of Sibley, IA; his daughter Shelly Kass (Mayer); his son-in-law Don Kass of Remsen, IA; his son Monty Mayer; his daughter-in-law Rachele Mayer (Smith) of Sibley, IA; his daughter Mindy Herrmann (Mayer); his son-in-law Tim Herrmann of Sibley, IA; and his siblings, Jeff Mayer (Carol Mayer) of Sauk Centre, MN and Cyndi Peterson (Rod Halvorson) of Marshall, MN. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
