Marjorie Gradert Obituary

We announce the death of Marjorie Gradert of Sibley, Iowa, who passed away on October 18, 2026, at the age of 90. Marjorie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Adolph Berg and Anna Berg (Dahlgren); her husband Herman Gradert; her siblings, Eloise Heuer (Ron) and Warren Berg; her nieces and nephews, Stuart Berg, Craig Heuer, Christy Berg and Stephanie Berg; and her siblings-in-law, Betty Wagner (Charles), Kenneth Gradert (Marilyn), Richard Gradert (Carolyn), Robert Gradert and Sandy Gradert.

She is survived by: her children, Sharon Gradert, Ernest Gradert (Angela) of Sibley and Kevin Gradert (Laura) of Sibley; her grandchildren, Melissa Johnson (Matt) of Garretson, SD, Cassandra Walser (Clay) of Faribault, MN, Breanna Bosma (Craig) of Rock Rapids, IA, James Gradert (Chenoa) of Sibley, IA, Morgan Trampel (Kasey) of Sibley, IA, Mandy Sturdevant (Griffin) of Sioux Falls, SD and Carson Gradert (Gabby) of Sibley, IA; and her siblings-in-law, Joanie Berg of Golden, CO, Wilbur Gradert of Hawarden, IA and Caroline "Susie" Gradert of Sioux Center, IA. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (704 Poplar Dr, Sibley, IA 51249). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the Gradert family prefers memorials, which will be directed to support local nonprofit organizations.
