He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Buren; his children, Laura Thomforde (Aaron), Heidi Taylor (Jason), Amber Munkel (Chris) and Heath Vander Pol (Julie); his grandchildren, Alysen Munkel, Erika Hillrichs (Cody), Ashlee Munkel, Kyle Taylor, Hannah Vander Pol and Joshua Vander Pol; his stepgrandsons, Alex and Gavin Thomforde; his siblings, Charlie Vander Pol (Pearl), Janice Wolterstorff (Bill), Gary Vander Pol (Lisa) and Esther Vander Pol; and his siblings-in-law, Don Keninger, Sharon Baker, Julie Buren and Ev Buren (Phyllis). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other extended family.
