He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Delmas Carter and Edna Aretta Carter (Booton); his wife Marice Carter (Shanahan); and his sister Phyllis. He is survived by: his children, Denise Claiborne (Kent), Paul Carter, Jr. (Winnie), Lisa McRae (Kevin) and Todd Carter (Patric Jackson); his niece Linda Walker; and his nephew Robert Young, Jr. of Florida.
