He was predeceased by: his parents, Teff Darius and Mabel Clare Johnson (Moore); his former wife Irene Johnson; his wife Willadean Johnson; his son Bret Johnson; his son-in-law Rick Sprick; his sisters, Virginia Fisher and Kathleen Hills; his nephews, Alan Fisher and Neil Hills; and his stepdaughter Sharon Powers.

He is survived by: his children, Ben Johnson (Lori) of Lampe, Missouri and Holly Sprick of Lenexa, Kansas; his stepson Mike Powers (Linda) of Tabor; his grandchildren, Claire McMillin (Matt), Alex Johnson (Michelle), Morgan Johnson, Sam Sprick (Lauren), Hannah Sprick (Cody), Tricia Gilbert (Chris) and Rob Powers (Corina); and his great grandchildren, Owen, Ella McMillin, Casen and Saylor Johnson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and many other extended family members, friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sidney Library, Sidney Fire and Rescue, or the Parkinson's Foundation.
