He was predeceased by : his parents, Earl "Dick" Shettler and Mary Shettler (Slaubaugh); and his siblings, Ruth Ann Shettler, Don, Cecil, Carl, Fred and Gary Shettler.

He is survived by : his wife Sharon Kay Renner of Sigourney; his children, Tracie Lea Miller (Mike) of Dana and Steve Shettler (Staci) of Sigourney; his granddaughter Rylie Shettler of Sigourney; and his sisters, Mary Lois Shettler of Washington and Rachel Koehler of Washington.
