He was predeceased by: his parents, John Leroy Kerkove and Addie Louise Spiess; his sister Marlene; his wife Ann; his grandson John Bown; and his great grandchild Jillian Rhoderick.

He is survived by: his children, Rick Kerkove (Jodi) of Lake St, Tricia Lawson (Michael) of Dallas, Peggy West (Rodney) of Oskaloosa, Janice Kerkove (David Richardson) of Cedar Rapids and Joyce Kerkove (Bill Bowermaster) of Kansas City; his friend Joy Bradley of Marthasville, Missouri; his grandchildren, Kris Kerkove (Alysia), Kari Rhoderick (Matt), Kyle Kerkove (Paige), Travis Bohl, Jessica Comstock (Mark), Emily Scholtus (Cody), Denita West, Carrie Ann West, Nathaniel Richardson (Trang Tran), Jonathan Richardson, Rachel Bowermaster and Katelyn Bowermaster; his great grandchildren, Carter Kerkove, Reid Kerkove, Jakob Rhoderick (Sam), Jaden Rhoderick (Hannah), Jameson Rhoderick, Tatum Kerkove, Dejah Bohl, Theo Bohl, Kaden Fisher, Jayden Comstock, Ethan Fisher, Greyson Fisher, Brody Barnhart, Leah Scholtus and AJ Tolliver; and his great great grandchildren, Walker Rhoderick, Sloane Rhoderick and Ariya Tolliver.
