He was predeceased by: his parents, Della Krommendyk (Dykstra) and Fred Krommendyk; his siblings, Harriet Sikma (Roger), Bud Krommendyk (Luella) and Will Krommendyk; and his sister-in-law Jane Krommendyk.

He is survived by: his wife Hilda; his daughters, Jody, Kathy and Teri; his grandchildren, Dru Van Kley, Jade Van Kley, Kent Van Kley (Marissa), Ross Van Kley (Olivia) and Isabelle Beeson; his great grandchildren, Dosie Van Kley, Joah and Shiloh Van Kley; his brother Fred Krommendyk, Jr.; and his sister-in-law Sofie Krommendyk.

Memorials will be given to Whispers of Love, Hope, and Joy in Sioux Center and the SuFuDu Drumline in Sioux Falls.
