He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Briesen and Florence Van Briesen (Kruger); his brothers, Verlyn, Verdell and Darwin; his parents-in-law, Henry and Wilhemina Punt; and his siblings-in-law, Don, Alvina Punt, Ralph, Arlene Punt, Bidwell, Forest Bidwell, Audrey Groen, Lloyd, Gracia Punt, Joan Punt, Henry and Anna Punt.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Van Briesen of Sioux Center; his grandchildren, Todd, Jennifer Van Briesen, Nancy Van Briesen, Cindy York (Courtney) and Arlin Van Briesen (Ashley); and his in-laws, Lyla Van Briesen, Leroy Punt, Judy Yates, Lawrence, Shirley Groen and Sharon Michailidis. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
